Integrated test automation platform helps organizations achieve “Test Automation Critical Mass”
Foster City, CA July 21—TestArchitect, with its Action Based Testing methodology and framework, now includes enhanced functionality to automate mobile applications. This latest release allows organizations to finally achieve, maintain, and manage “test automation critical mass”: a sustained level of positive and profitable return for their test automation investment.
With the new release of TestArchitect 8, LogiGear Corporation has incorporated test methodology, automation technology, and test management to support the iOS7 platform on a wide range of iOS devices, including iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, and the iPad mini. Android 4.4 and earlier versions are also supported on a wide range of phones and tablets.
“Our number one goal has always been to enable our users to easily create and maintain a large volume of tests for a wide range of applications,” commented Hung Nguyen, CEO of LogiGear. “That is what has led to our expansion into offering extensive mobile functionality, centered around TestArchitect’s proven Action Based Testing method.”
To seamlessly enable the mobile implementation, a comprehensive set of built-in actions specifically designed for the iOS and Android platforms is available in the included TestArchitect Action Based Testing library, enabling interaction with multiple native and Webview controls, as well as a wider spectrum of mobile-specific gestures.
Validating the content of high-speed graphics is a challenging task for test automation tools on both mobile and desktop platforms. The addition of sophisticated Key Point image detection in TestArchitect 8 finally enables test automation to confirm the correctness of changing graphics that are often found in modern games and graphics-intensive applications.
TestArchitect 8 also augments its test management tool offering with the integration of the popular JIRA issue-tracking system, to easily log and monitor the progress of test bugs throughout the Test Automation Lifecycle. Test bugs can be collected in JIRA, along with associated test results and screenshots of the display during test execution, allowing for powerful debugging during the analysis process. In addition, known bugs can be tracked in TestArchitect 8 with an innovative feature called Track Known Bugs, eliminating failure alerts on already-known and previously-reported test bugs.
